Psalm 22
All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the LORD,
and all the families of the nations will bow down before him,
for dominion belongs to the LORD
and he rules over the nations.
All the rich of the earth will feast and worship;
all who go down to the dust will kneel before him—
those who cannot keep themselves alive.
Posterity will serve him;
future generations will be told about the Lord.
They will proclaim his righteousness to a people yet unborn—
for he has done it.–Psalm 22:27-31, NIV
In my former book, Theophilus,
I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach
until the day he was taken up to heaven,
after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit
to the apostles he had chosen.
After his suffering,
he showed himself to these men
and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive.
He appeared to them over a period of forty days
and spoke about the kingdom of God.
On one occasion, while he was eating with them,
he gave them this command:
"Do not leave Jerusalem,
but wait for the gift my Father promised,
which you have heard me speak about.
For John baptized with water,
but in a few days you will be baptized
with the Holy Spirit."

Prayer
The Apostle Paul’s Prayer: Eph 3:12-21
In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence. I ask you, therefore, not to be discouraged because of my sufferings for you, which are your glory.
For this reason I kneel before the Father,
from whom his whole family
in heaven and on earth derives its name.
I pray that out of his glorious riches
he may strengthen you
with power through his Spirit
in your inner being,
so that Christ may dwell in your hearts
through faith.
And I pray that you,
being rooted and established in love,
may have power,
together with all the saints,
to grasp how wide and long and high and deep
is the love of Christ,
and to know this love
that surpasses knowledge
that you may be filled to the measure
of all the fullness of God.
Now to him
who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine,
according to his power
that is at work within us,
to him be glory in the church
and in Christ Jesus
throughout all generations, for ever and ever!
Amen.
Find a moment of silence and reflect on the words,
“I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being.”
What are the riches of God?
How could they strengthen you?
Pray that God’s Spirit would strengthen your inner being.
Action
Strength. Sometimes, strength is a choice. We choose to go back to work each day. We choose to get up and make breakfast each day. We choose to do the right thing when it will cause some type of loss to ourselves. We choose to love. We choose to laugh. We choose to dance. We choose to live. All of these things take strength. I would like you to journal about the strength you do have, and if you can’t see it, ask God to show you.
