Psalm 10
You hear, O LORD, the desire of the afflicted;
you encourage them, and you listen to their cry,
defending the fatherless and the oppressed,
in order that man, who is of the earth, may terrify no more.

John 10
Jesus answered, "I did tell you, but you do not believe.
The miracles I do in my Father's name speak for me,
but you do not believe because you are not my sheep.
My sheep listen to my voice;
I know them, and they follow me.
I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish;
no one can snatch them out of my hand.
My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all;
no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand.
I and the Father are one." –John 10:25-30

Prayer
Pray, then, in this way:
Our Father who is in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. –Matthew 6:9-13
Find a moment of silence and reflect on the words,
“but deliver us from evil.”
Can you identify evil in the world around you?
As you pray, ask God to take away all fear of evil from you,
to reveal to you that you are His protected child.
Action
The Bible says that if you resist the devil he will flee from you. Make a move against evil in your world. For example, you might make a donation to help a good cause or get rid of something inappropriate from your home.
