Proseuche Devotions: Day 17

Proseuche Devotions
Daily Word
Psalm 17
I call on you, O God, for you will answer me;
give ear to me and hear my prayer.

Show the wonder of your great love,
you who save by your right hand
those who take refuge in you from their foes.

Keep me as the apple of your eye;
hide me in the shadow of your wings –Psalm 17:6-7, NIV

            Read Psalm 17 (NASB, NIV)
Listen to Psalm 17 (NASB, NIV)

John 17
After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed:
"Father, the time has come.
Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you.
For you granted him authority over all people
that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him.
Now this is eternal life:
that they may know you, the only true God,
and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do.
And now, Father, glorify me in your presence
with the glory I had with you before the world began.
–John 17:1-5, NIV

            Read John 17 (NASB, NIV)
Listen to John 17 (NASB, NIV)

Meditation

Prayer
The LORD said to Moses, "Tell Aaron and his sons, 'This is how you are to bless the Israelites. Say to them:
"The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace."'”
–Numbers 6:22-26

Find a moment of silence and reflect on the words,
“the LORD . . . be gracious to you.”

How might God be “gracious” to you?
What might this look like in your life today?
Grace given to you, and grace given to others.
Pray and ask God to bring grace into your life.

Action
Grace—unmerited kindness and favor (being kind to be kind, not because someone earned it).  Find one way to give unmerited kindness to another, and when you do, thank God for His grace give to you.
